What is Stump Grinding?
Basic stump grinding service includes removing tree stumps from your yard with a stump grinder. Stump grinders are heavy-duty machines that use rotating teeth, chains, or blades to grind down tree stumps to a small size that prohibits regrowth of the tree. Stein’s professionals grind the stump until the remainder is 6-10″ below ground level.

A stump grinder is an engine with a blade that rotates to chip away at the tree stump. Stein uses a large self-propelled stump grinder that has “turf-friendly” rubber tracks. We bring the grinder to the job site on a trailer, unload, and then steer to the stump. The grinder can fit through a 36” wide gate, making the process relatively easy on most landscapes.
